Three Little Quotes

“Our only KISS was like an accident – a beautiful gasoline rainbow.”
Alice Sebold, The Lovely Bones

“The test of a desirable poem is not that one wants to MARRY it immediately but that one wants to meet it again – soon.”
Kevan Johnson, Poetry Review, Autumn 1993

I try to AVOID looking backward and keep looking upward.

I'm in awe at the poetry used by Sebold in that line. I really must check out that book.

Excellent use of the theme.

3 fantastic quotes.

I was in a minimal mood and felt it said much more than if I forced writing onto the page.

Ash: You'll have to let me know how you get on with novel. I struggled and fought my way through it - there were a few nuggets (like the one above) which made go 'wow', but on the whole I found it to be a difficult book to fall into.

Falling into books - reading for clumsy people. Would you rather climb into a book, fall into it or be pushed into it?

I agree with the 'marry' quote. You don't necessarily want to go and buy everything by that poet but you do make a mental note to check out their FB profile, maybe hang out where they hang out :)

Thanks Lara.
