resolutions

10:05:00 Posted by Lindsay 2 comments

I make them, then life comes along and the self sabotage elf
ruins it all. If I consciously decide to change something at New Year, you can
be sure it won’t last until Easter. From what I can gather it’s quite a common
thing. But most major life changes I have experienced have never come from New Year’s
resolutions. So, I won’t be making any resolutions this year. That’s not to say
I won’t try and change myself for the better, but I don’t see any point in
putting undue pressure on myself because of the date. They say it takes two
weeks to develop a habit, good or bad. So, in 2012 I may acquire some good
habits instead. Maybe.

The first world problems you've listed sound like half the conversations I have with Ash JR.

And I know you're right about the pressure of making resolutions at New Year. It seems like a shame that so many good intentions get screwed over by the pressure of New Year resolutions.

This is why I usually never make New Year resolutions. However, this year I'm breaking my own rule and giving it a go... Fingers crossed I make it past Easter.

Great post!
