Apple Core
Watching - a dark grey vapour of
flies infect
the apple core of mind. Left lifeless
as the maggots of self-doubt
collect.
Watching a dark grey vapour of
flies infect
and steal. As cells choke I sit,
reflect:
the missing image of the
soulless.
Watching a dark grey vapour of
flies infect.
The apple core of mind left
lifeless.
Thank you for reading,
Lara

Thank you
The missing image of the soulless
Beautifully done.
We don't see enough triolets on here. I wish I'd seen this earlier in the week when I had a student arguing about the necessity of meter in poetry.
Wonderful as always.
Lara, your work is so precise; so beautifully constructed and so delightful to read. More please.
