I couldn't really get into the tenson, but I really liked the Lawrence poem.
Interesting. Esoteric certainly. So were these tenson poems composed by two people? Or was that just a device? Intimates - what a great poem.

This reminded me of those 'parallel texts' editions of poems and short stories that Penguin used to publish to help those of us trying to master 5the finer points of French and German literature. Tenson is a new departure for me, so thanks for the background.
I'd call that Cercamon 0 Lawrence 1. And what's that hanging on his pole? Looks like tripe. 😂

Glad that you didn't abandon this article. I had never heard of this form before. The first thing I thought of when you described the tenson was a Poetry Slam but between two people. Don't actually get the tenson poem.
